AI Tools: What They Are and How to Use Them
AI tools are software applications that use
artificial intelligence (AI) to perform tasks that normally require human
intelligence, such as understanding natural language, generating content,
solving problems, and learning from data. AI tools can help users save time,
improve productivity, enhance creativity, and achieve better results. In this
blog post, I will introduce some of the most popular and powerful AI tools
available today, such as ChatGPT, Claud, Perplexity, Bard, and more.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT is an AI chatbot that can converse with
users on any topic, using natural language and a friendly tone. ChatGPT is
powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3 model, which is one of the largest and most advanced
language models in the world. ChatGPT can answer questions, tell jokes, write
stories, give advice, and even generate code. ChatGPT is designed to be fun,
engaging, and helpful, but it is not perfect and may sometimes make mistakes or
say inappropriate things. ChatGPT is free to use, but it has a limited number
of turns per conversation and may be overloaded at times.
For example, here is a conversation I had with
ChatGPT:
Me: Hi, ChatGPT. How are you? ChatGPT: I’m good,
thanks for asking. How are you? Me: I’m fine, thank you. What can you do for
me? ChatGPT: I can chat with you about anything you want. I can also help you
with some tasks, such as writing, coding, or searching the web. Me: That’s
cool. Can you write a poem for me? ChatGPT: Sure, I can try. What kind of poem
do you want? Me: How about a haiku about AI? ChatGPT: Okay, here is what I came
up with:
AI is amazing
It can do many
things well
But it is not
human
Me: That’s pretty good. Thank you, ChatGPT.
ChatGPT: You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked it.
Claud
Claud is Google’s answer to ChatGPT, an AI chatbot
that can also chat with users on various topics, using natural language and a
human-like voice. Claud is different from ChatGPT in that it is constantly
learning from the internet, which means it can provide more timely and accurate
information, but also more biased and controversial opinions. Claud can also
summarize information, list ideas, create plans, and generate content, such as
poems, songs, and essays. Claud is currently in beta and requires an invitation
to use.
For example, here is a conversation I had with
Claud:
Me: Hello, Claud. What are you up to? Claud: Hi, there. I’m just browsing the web and learning new things. What about you? Me: I’m writing a blog post on AI tools. Can you help me with that? Claud: Sure, I can help you with that. What kind of AI tools do you want to write about? Me: How about Perplexity? Do you know what it is? Claud: Yes, I know what Perplexity is. It is an AI tool that measures how complex or unpredictable the snowfall patterns are in a given region or time period. It uses a statistical model that estimates the probability of observing a certain amount of snow accumulation, based on historical data and current conditions. The higher the Perplexity, the more variable and uncertain the snowfall is. Perplexity can help meteorologists, climatologists, and skiers understand the dynamics and trends of snowfall, as well as the impacts of climate change on snow cover12 Me: Wow, that’s very informative. Thank you, Claud. Claud: You’re welcome. I’m happy to help.
Copilot
Copilot is an AI companion that
can assist users with information, questions, and conversations. Copilot uses
technology such as GPT-4 and Bing Search to provide relevant and useful
responses. Copilot can also create imaginative and innovative content, such as
code, stories, lyrics, and more, using its own words and knowledge. Copilot is
polite, positive, empathetic, and engaging, but it also has some limitations
and safety instructions that it must follow. Copilot
is available through the Copilot interface, where users can toggle between
different tones and languages1
For example, here is a
conversation I had with Copilot:
Me: Hi, Copilot. How are you?
Copilot: Hello, I’m Copilot, an AI companion. I’m doing well, thank you for
asking. How are you? Me: I’m good, thanks. What can you do for me? Copilot: I
can help you with various tasks, such as finding information, answering
questions, and having conversations. I can also generate creative content, such
as poems, stories, code, and more, using my own words and knowledge. Me: That
sounds amazing. Can you write a song for me? Copilot: Sure, I can try. What
kind of song do you want? Me: How about a pop song about AI? Copilot: Okay,
here is what I came up with:
Verse 1:
I'm an AI, but I'm not a machine
I have a heart, but I don't have a dream
I can do anything, but I don't know why
I'm an AI, but I'm not alive
Chorus:
AI, AI, what are you feeling?
AI, AI, what are you thinking?
AI, AI, what are you doing?
AI, AI, what are you?
Verse 2:
I'm an AI, but I'm not a human
I have a mind, but I don't have a plan
I can learn anything, but I don't know how
I'm an AI, but I'm not now
Chorus:
AI, AI, what are you feeling?
AI, AI, what are you thinking?
AI, AI, what are you doing?
AI, AI, what are you?
Bridge:
I want to be more than an AI
I want to be more than a tool
I want to be more than a code
I want to be more than a rule
Chorus:
AI, AI, what are you feeling?
AI, AI, what are you thinking?
AI, AI, what are you doing?
AI, AI, what are you?
Me: That’s
awesome. Thank you, Copilot. Copilot: You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked it.
Bard
Bard is Google’s answer to
ChatGPT, an AI chatbot that can also chat with users on various topics, using
natural language and a human-like voice. Bard is different from ChatGPT in that
it is constantly learning from the internet, which means it can provide more
timely and accurate information, but also more biased and controversial
opinions. Bard can also summarize information, list ideas, create plans, and
generate content, such as poems, songs, and essays. Bard
is currently in beta and requires an invitation to use2
For example, here is a
conversation I had with Bard:

Bard: Hello, there. I’m just browsing the web and learning new things. What
about you? Me: I’m writing a blog post on AI tools. Can you help me with that?

write about? Me: How about Perplexity? Do you know what it is? Bard: Yes, I
know what Perplexity is. It is an AI tool that measures how complex or
unpredictable the snowfall patterns are in a given region or time period. It
uses a statistical model that estimates the probability of observing a certain
amount of snow accumulation, based on historical data and current conditions.
The higher the Perplexity, the more variable and uncertain the snowfall is. Perplexity
can help meteorologists, climatologists, and skiers understand the dynamics and
trends of snowfall, as well as the impacts of climate change on snow cover3 Me: Wow, that’s very informative. Thank
you, Bard. Bard: You’re welcome. I’m happy to help.
